Red deer in Richmond Park – 2015
Male red deer rub their antlers agains trees and branches during the mating season. Males often stimulate combat to relieve aggression, using trees as substitutes for real opponents.
Richmond Park is home to 630 red and fallow deer which have been roaming freely since 1529.
